The fact that I was contacted by one of you all to provide more information but was limited in doing so since the game wasn’t crashing, just outright freezing but the sound still plays even after a complete OS reinstall and loading only required Drivers, Updates, Steam and New World, literally the only things installed on the PC and yet as soon as the game would load to the character screen, once clicking play and hitting the loading screen it would insta freeze, no error nothing, just unresponsive and it would have to be ended via the task manager. This was something reported by 100’s if not 1000’s of users during both July/Aug Closed Beta Test and the Open Beta Test at the beginning of Sep.

I’ll continue to update my post if anything else comes up, otherwise try his fix for the moment. I’ve gotten two days worth of play without any crashes. After that It began crashing about every 40 minutes.Īs per MrHandless’ suggestion, after increasing my virtual memory & lowering my graphics (he turned his down to Low, I have my down to Medium) the game has been pretty steady. Increasing the virtual memory appeared to have fixed the issue, but after about 5 hours of play, the game crashed.
Increased virtual memory (after seeing this post from the devs). Monitored GPU temps (nothing out of the ordinary). Allowed New World application through my firewall. Capped my FPS in-game at 60 (and then down to 30 with 60 didn’t fix anything). Lowered my graphical settings to medium(I have the Nvidia EVGA 1070ti, so this really shouldn’t have been necessary). Deleted the savedata folder & user_preload_settings file. #Myharmony desktop software freezes step 3 drivers#
Updated my drivers & made sure Windows was up to date. I made a post previously regarding this issue ( here )Įverything I’ve tried that has NOT worked: I also took an extra step of trying 3 different versions of graphics card drivers in case there was a bug with the latest version (which was the only difference between my system between Tuesday and Thursday and unfortunately I can’t remember which version of graphics card drivers I was using on Tuesday).Įdit: I ended up ordering a new graphics card so I guess I’ll see if that solves the issue next week when it arrivesĪre the image links broken for anyone else? Turned off adblock for the page and they’re still broken/not loading lol. I’m tempted to drop the $ on a new video card if I knew it would fix it, currently running the min spec of a GTX 970. My crashes are not just the game either, it completely resets my PC without warning or error. Then yesterday the time it took to crash decreased each time and now this morning, the game crashes as soon as it starts the loading bar into the server. I then played again on Thursday and experienced a crash after about 2-3 hours of play, this occurred about 3 times before I gave up. On Tuesday (launch) I was able to play for a solid 8-10 hours without a single crash. Have 32gb of ram so set my virtual memory to 96gb. I’ve tried all the above steps to no avail. Please let us know if any of these info helps! Now you can restart New World and see if the game crashes again. Go to AGS > New World and delete the following: On your keyboard, press Win+R (the Windows logo key and the R key) to invoke the Run box. You should back up the files before deleting in case things go wrong. Restart your computer and check if New World crashes again. Once you’ve entered your size of virtual memory, click Set, then click OK to save the changes. In my case, the physical memory (actual RAM) of my computer is 8 GB, so the Initial size for me here is 8 x 1024 x 1.5 = 12288 MB, and the Maximum size should be 8 x 1024 x 3 = 24576 MB. Microsoft recommends that virtual memory should be 1.5 to 3 times the size of physical memory.
Then select Customize size.Įnter Initial size and Maximum size according to the physical memory of your computer. Deselect the Automatically manage paging file size for all drives checkbox.
